Engagement: Selma + Irvin

I love how my job helps me reconnect with people that I have met when I was young. Selma and I went to the same secondary school, since we weren’t in the same form, we weren’t particularly close, but we would chat here and there as we both were in the swimming team. We had lost touch since I went to the States after form seven; we finally got back in touch about a year ago. I was so surprised to find that Selma still looked exactly the same as 15 years ago!

This shoot was done in February 2014. Selma and Irvin wanted to keep the photos off from their guests until their wedding day, and asked if I could wait and only post them after September. I reluctantly agreed because I have wanted to share the colorful powder session right away. If Selma and Irvin weren’t also clients of my wedding day package, I would probably have said no. đŸ˜‰ si-3w

I always encourage my clients to tell me about their stories, so that I can brainstorm a theme to make the photos to be personal and unique to them. Selma and Irvin both love tea! Selma told me that we could photo shoot at a tea cafe that was opened by Irvin’s friend, I was more than excited to photo shoot at a new location as well as having this special theme that meant something to them. By the way, check out this tea cafe – TEAVERS, their special tea drinks look really good!

I like that selma picked her outfits that showed her character.

I am so glad that Selma and Irvin were crazy enough to agree with the idea of playing holi powder in their pre-wedding session!

I haven’t had quite a good laugh at work for awhile. Irvin has a really good sense of humor that has left me speechless or made me crack up really hard for a couple times.
