Engagement: Sara + Billy (Part 2)

Go check out post “Sara + Billy (Part 1)” before reading this post.

On the third week of February, we finally had our photo shoot. It was also my first time meeting Sara and Billy. Perhaps because Sara and I have communicated so much through emailing before the shooting, I actually felt I have known her for a long time.
Usually before each photo shoot, I would ask the couples what kind of mood or what they wanted to show from their photos. With Sara and Billy, without me having to ask, she already wrote me, “Billy wants the pics to capture us doing things we normally do… basically he wants everything natural and real…but even if the pic/background is not colorful, as long as the happy element is there, that’s all we want!” I wish every couple could be as specific as they are with what’s in their minds.Billy loves all kind of snacks. If Sara didn’t stop him, we wouldn’t only have a jar of M&Ns, but a whole cart full of his favorites. I never thought I would have so much fun photo shooting them when I first accepted this project. They were up for all my improvised crazy ideas (hmm…Billy was a little reluctant maybe, but when Sara cheerfully said yes, could Billy say no? haha). Putting paints on their faces was definitely one of them.

From Sara and Billy:

I’ve always enjoyed looking at Kathy’s photos of other couples but i didn’t really think ours would turn out to be just as sweet and natural! Until Kathy did it for us!

Kathy has this amazing ability to take your simplest idea, mix it with her creativity and artistic insight, and turn it into a beautiful picture that captures the sweetest moment! If you’re looking for a talented photographer who really lets you be who you are in photos, Kathy’s the one.

Many thanks to Kathy again for making this set of photos uniquely “us”! =)

Apart from hearing all kind of romantic stories, another good thing of being in my position is that I get to meet a lot of great and interesting people, like Sara and Billy. Especially Sara, she has been extremely supportive.

Dear Sara and Billy,
Thank you so much for all the kind words and supports! As well as your insistence on playing with the bubbles, if not, we wouldn’t have some of the really beautiful photos.

Last but not least, I wish you two the best of everything in the coming future!
Warm regards, Kathy
